Diafragma instellen

Setting the aperture

For setting the desired aperture on the HELIOS-44 the setting point should be positioned opposite to one of the numbers (2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16) engraved on the aperture setting ring. Turn the ring till you hear a soft click. This means that the ring is fixed.

Setting the lens for image sharpness

Focusing should be done with the largest lens opening possible. For this purpose the aperture ring of the HELIOS-44 should be rotated counterclockwise, as far as possible.

Aim the lens on the subject to photograph and while looking through the viewfinder, turn the lens focusing ring till the image appears sharp on the matte glass. After focusing the lens is fixed by rotating the aperture ring clockwise, again as far as possible.
