Horizon-202 photos

Alfred's Camera Page

Most of these panoramas were taken in March 2001 with a Horizon-202 I was allowed to borrow from my high school. I scanned them in using a Minolta Dîmage Scan Dual II negative scanner. By scanning in the two halves of the image and then stitching them together, I got a seamless panorama. The thing to remember is to scan the negatives in as slides – that way the scanner will scan them "as-is" without differences in density.

I have to admit that I did a bit of image processing to make these photos look like they do. What I did was hand-tune the levels and emphasize some areas by burning and dodging. Nothing an analog photographer wouldn't do in the darkroom – and nothing you couldn't replicate on your own computer. I think that the quality of the Horizon-202 source images remains self-obvious.
